Why We Disclose Your Information
The following are specific reasons why we may share your information.
Third-Party Processing: We may disclose your information to third parties who assist us with various tasks, including technical support by Nerdpress (nerdpress.net/privacy-policy/), payment processing, hosting services, email delivery (by Feedblitz.com), and customer service.
By Law: We may share your data as required by law or to respond to legal process, including a subpoena, or as necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of others. This includes sharing information with other parties to prevent or address fraud and to avoid credit risks.
To Protect our Company: We may use your information to protect our company, including to investigate and remedy any violations of our rights or policies. We may also disclose your information as reasonably necessary to acquire and maintain insurance coverage, manage risks, obtain financial or legal advice, or to exercise or defend against legal claims.
Other Third Parties: We may share information with advertisers, our investors, or other third parties for the purpose of conducting general business analysis. If we do so, we will make reasonable efforts to inform you if required by law.
Recipe Maker: We use this service, among other things, to enable user ratings of our recipes. Recipe Maker has provided us with the following information:
Cookies: When user ratings are enabled we store a WPRM_User_Voted_%recipe% cookie (with %recipe% the ID of the recipe) that contains the rating this user has given to a particular recipe. This cookie is used as (one of the) measures to prevent rating spam.
IP Address: When user ratings are enabled we store the IP address upon voting. This is used as one of the measures to prevent rating spam.
How long we retain your data: Our cookies are stored for 30 days. User-submitted data is stored indefinitely in the local database.
Recipe Maker also tracks analytics about the actions users take on the Recipe Card, including but not limited to using the "Jump to Recipe" button, printing a recipe, rating a recipe, sharing a recipe, and adjusting the serving size. This information helps us improve our recipe card and make it as helpful to users as possible. The information we collect includes users' IP addresses and browser data but not personal data such as a name or an email address.
Cloudflare: Cloudflare is a performance and security service that this Site uses. Cloudflare processes your interactions with the Site. This information is processed whenever you access this Site. The information processed may include but is not limited to IP addresses, traffic routing data, system configuration information, and other information about traffic to and from the site. To learn more, visit cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
Slickstream: The Site includes search functionality, provided by CafeMedia.com, called Slickstream. To learn more about Slickstream, you can visit Slickstream.com. Slickstream collects data regarding the pages you have visited within the Site, to provide you with search results, content recommendations, and ads.
In addition, you may be asked to voluntarily provide your email address and other personal information as part of your use of the Slickstream search functionality. Cafe Media uses the data collected via Slickstream to provide the Slickstream service and advertising. You can opt-out of the use of your information for such purposes by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
Logtivity: Logtivity is a tool that tracks activity and errors on the Site. It's helpful for the Site's security. If you interact with the Site, the tool will log your username and IP address. This generally applies only to users who register on the Site and leave a comment. Since this Site does not currently allow readers to register and does not allow comments, for most users (who simply browse the recipes), their information will not be logged by Logtivity. You can read more at logtivity.io.
Newsletter: You may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes such as serving you targeted advertising. In addition, newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. Also, this allows the Website to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user.
If you have consented to receive marketing by subscribing to our blog, we will send you information about new blog posts, or other emails and newsletters which may be of interest to you. You may opt out at any point as set out below. You have a right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes. We will hold the personal data that you voluntarily gave to us, such as name and email for marketing purposes, for as long as you wish to continue receiving emails from us. With each email you receive from us, you will have the opportunity to opt-out by unsubscribing or to email us and ask us to remove your email from our database. As for information collected by Google Analytics, we have set our user data retention period to the shortest offered, which is 14 months on Universal Analytics and 2 months on Google Analytics 4.

California Users’ Rights Under the CCPA
The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) took effect January 1, 2020 and provides California consumers with certain rights regarding their personal information.
The section “Personal Information We Collect and Use” explains the specific details of personal information that we collect. The CCPA also requires listing categories of personal information collected. As defined by the CCPA, we collect, or have collected in the past 12 months, the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers (such as name, email address, postal address, phone number, IP address)
- Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute [Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)] such as name, contact information, employment
- Commercial information (such as transaction information, purchase history, payment information)
- Internet or other electronic network activity information (such as browsing history, search history, online behavior)
Personal information, as defined by the CCPA, does not include publicly available information from government records and de-identified or aggregated consumer information.
We use and disclose the categories of personal information we collect from and about you consistent with the business purposes discussed in the section “How We Use the Information.”
The CCPA also sets forth obligations for businesses that “sell” personal information to third parties. We do not “sell” personal information and have not sold any personal information in the past 12 months. However, we recognize that exchanging your information to other providers for something of value may be considered “selling” under the CCPA’s definition and want to err on the side of transparency.
If you are a California resident, you may have the following consumer rights under the CCPA:
- Right to request deletion of personal information. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain conditions and limitations under the law.
- Right to Opt Out of the sale of personal information. The CCPA provides consumers with the right to opt out of the sale of their personal information. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade User Personal Information with third parties for their commercial purposes as defined under the CCPA.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising a consumer privacy right. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under the CCPA.
To exercise any of your rights as set out above, please contact us at HealthyRecipesBlog (at) gmail.com. You will be required to verify your identity before we are able to fulfill your request. You can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. To do so, you will need to provide a written authorization or power of attorney signed by you for the agent to act on your behalf. You will still need to verify your identity with us. Note that consumers may only make a personal information request twice in a 12-month period under the CCPA. We will work to respond to your verifiable request within 45 days of receipt. Certain information may be exempt from requests under applicable law.
Do Not Track Signals: Pursuant to California law, we hereby disclose that we do not currently honor Do Not Track signals issued by browsers or other third-party sources.
Nevada Users’ Rights

We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 and, as part of the compliance process, we may be required to disclose whatever information we have for you to a copyright holder who has submitted a complaint to us.
